Site
도심 대로 사거리 모퉁이에 위치한 건물이다. 가각전제된 도로 부분이 형태에 영향을 준다.
Challenge
기존 은행의 디자인 매뉴얼과 가각전제된 대지 조건을 외부 형태에서 어떻게 함께 풀 것인가가 과제였다.
Approach
정면과 좌측면이 주 파사드가 되므로, 단순한 수직면에 최소한의 변화만 주어 조형 효과를 얻고자 했다. 모서리 면을 기준으로 양측 상부 벽체에 엇갈림을 두었다.
Overview
A building on a corner of a major downtown intersection — a project with much deliberation over the exterior form, the existing bank design manual, and the treatment of the chamfered corner road portion.
With the front and left side as the main facades, to achieve a sculptural effect with minimal change on a simple vertical plane, we adopted offsetting the upper walls on both sides relative to the corner face.
I wonder how, and how much, the designer's intent will reach the ordinary people on the street.
